At the turn of the year, we set new goals, create new expectations, and our homes are no exception to these resolutions. In this article, we provide some tips to help you keep your home organized and comfortable in 2025.
1- Schedule it.
Well, it's not that you need to write down the task of organizing your home in your diary. But as it should be a daily task, it's important to set aside the same amount of time each day to do it.
It always depends on your schedule and family logistics, but, for example, you could spend 15 minutes at the beginning of each morning organizing your home and getting everything ready for when you return at the end of the day.
2- Make the beds.
Forget the idea that it's not necessary to make the bed if you're going to use it again at the end of the day. After all, an unmade bed does not convey the image of an organized home and is a clear invitation to ‘go in’ for another five minutes and give in to the temptation to procrastinate.
3- Don't leave the dishes for tomorrow.
Of course, after a long day at work, the last thing we feel like doing is washing or putting the dinner dishes in the dishwasher—but this simple task really makes a difference not only in the overall organization, but above all in your mood when you enter the kitchen again in the morning.
7- Used it, put it away.
How often do we need to use the toolbox and then leave it in the middle of the room until we feel like putting it away? Often, right? This contributes to disorganization in the house and wastes time.
So, the rule is this: after using it, put it away!
8- Say “yes” to labels.
No one likes labels, but they are very useful in our homes. Especially in pantries and offices, where labeling boxes and packages is half the battle in getting organized and better identifying our belongings.
You can do the same, for example, with food that you divide into freezer bags—identifying not only the product itself, but also the expiration date.
9- Involve the whole family.
There is no such thing as an organized home without everyone's involvement—whether adults or children.
And the sooner you involve your children in the process, the sooner they will adopt these habits and contribute to the smooth running of household chores.
As you can see, these tips can help you keep your home as organized as possible throughout the year—with some leeway and flexibility, since there is nothing better than a home that bears the marks of our life and our happiness.
