The Serra da Boa Viagem Forest Park is the largest forest area near the city of Figueira da Foz. Covering approximately 400 hectares, it is not only of enormous scenic and environmental value, but also a recreational area that contributes to the quality of life of its users.

This park is served by several paved roads and numerous dirt forest trails, the most important of which is the road that climbs from Cabo Mondego to Abrigo da Montanha and then accesses Bandeira, descending to Quiaios via the “Triângulo” intersection, both because it is the busiest road and because it marks a physical barrier that cuts the park into two areas.

The road network accessible to light and heavy vehicles is approximately 26.57 km long. In addition to these roads, there are approximately 8,000 m of other dirt roads, whose surface only allows the circulation of off-road vehicles. There are numerous footpaths and cycle paths where visitors can observe a rich natural, archaeological, and landscape heritage and various facilities, the main ones being just over five minutes from the city center.

On its southern slope, there are several residential areas, on its eastern side, the village of Serra da Boa Viagem, and on its northern slope, a forest area influenced by the villages of Quiaios, Praia de Quiaios, and Murtinheira. Within the park itself are the guard houses, the chapel of Sto. Amaro, the Cabo Mondego lighthouse, and the Abrigo da Montanha building.

The highest point is 261.88 m, at the Bandeira geodetic vertex. Areas below 100 m are very small, representing about 6% of the mountain range's area. The overwhelming majority of the area is between 150 and 250 meters above sea level. Murtinheira. Within the park itself are the guard houses, the chapel of Sto. Amaro, the Cabo Mondego Lighthouse, and the Abrigo da Montanha building.

The terrain is quite complex, with practically flat areas (slopes of less than 4%) being few and far between. Areas with slopes above 25% represent about 20% of the total.

The hydrography is characterized by the existence of numerous watercourses, which only carry surface water in winter.

The Serra da Boa Viagem Forest Park has a variety of facilities for public use, associated with sports, informal recreation, and environmental information (children's playgrounds, picnic areas, restaurant), making it an area of enormous ecological value for those seeking a green space with beautiful landscapes for walking, practicing various outdoor sports, running, cycling, observing the flora, and discovering the fauna.

For all these reasons, the Serra da Boa Viagem Forest Park awaits you.
