The IRS saga is about to begin. What will change? For now, nothing. The dates for taxpayers to fulfill their tax obligations remain the same, so it's time to prepare to file your 2020 tax return for 2019 income. Here is the tax calendar with the main IRS dates for this year.


Report household
 
  • By February 15: update data on household composition and other relevant personal information in case of changes in 2019 such as marriage, birth of children, divorce, death of spouse, change of residence, changes to joint custody, or children who are no longer considered dependents.

Validate invoices
 
  • By February 25: deadline for consulting and validating invoices on the Finance Portal. As in previous years, you must go to e-fatura to do so.

Claim invoices
 
  • Until March 15: the deduction amounts will be made available, based on the invoices reported and validated and others, such as mortgage interest, house rents, and user fees, for example.
  • After checking the amounts, if you detect any errors, you have between March 15 and 31 to claim these expenses on e-fatura.


IRS filing
 
  • From April 1 to June 30: period for filing your IRS return for 2019 income.


Refund


Until July 31: deadline for receiving refunds, provided that the tax return has been submitted within the specified time limits.


IRS payment
 
  • Until August 31: payment of IRS due by taxpayers to the State, under penalty of a fine.
