The National Republican Guard (GNR) will carry out Operation “WRC Vodafone Rally de Portugal 2025” between May 14 and 18 in its area of operation, with the aim of ensuring public order, directing and containing spectators in designated areas, prohibiting traffic on the Special Stages, and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic on access roads, emergency routes, and connecting routes between stages, so that the event, as well as others associated with it, can take place safely.

As part of the 58th edition of the World Rally Championship (WRC) Vodafone Rally de Portugal, organized by the Automobile Club of Portugal (ACP), the event is part of the FIA World Rally Championship calendar and will take place in the central and northern regions of the country, covering the districts of Coimbra, Viseu, Aveiro, Porto, Braga, Viana do Castelo, and Vila Real.

Given the high complexity of the event and the expected large crowds throughout the competition, a multidisciplinary operational plan will be implemented, with integrated coordination between the various branches of the GNR.

The Guard's operation will be carried out in two phases:

Phase 1 - beginning on the day before the race, May 14, is intended to ensure the closure of the road to traffic on the sections of the course, control access for vehicles and spectators, until the final operation is in place;

Phase 2 – between May 15 and 18, coincides with the race and will be implemented according to the scheduled times for the stages. It aims to prohibit access and circulation of unauthorized vehicles on the competition sections, contain the public within the limits of the prepared areas, and prevent the movement of people in prohibited areas.

In order to ensure the safety of all those involved – spectators, participants, organizers, and the general public – the GNR calls for strict compliance with the safety rules defined for the event:
  1. Watch the event and remain exclusively in the areas designated for the public and properly marked;
  2. Respect the instructions given by the military police;
  3. In the event of an accident, avoid accessing the race sections and do not interfere with the vehicles involved.
