Foz Plaza, Figueira da Foz´s landmark shopping center, is preparing for a major renovation and expansion project, with a total investment of 30 million euros, carried out by the Vougainvest group, which owns the space.
The public presentation of the expansion project will take place today at 4pm at the Malibu Foz Hotel, in the presence of the Mayor of Figueira da Foz, Pedro Santana Lopes; representatives of the Vougainvest Group; the architectural team responsible for the project, Broadway Malyan, as well as local authorities.
The project to extend Foz Plaza includes an increase in the gross leasable area (GLA) from the current 14,870 m² to 24,962 m², with a total of 83 stores and kiosks. Work is scheduled to begin in the last quarter of 2026 and should be completed in the first half of 2028.
The intervention represents a major structural transformation, which includes:
- Lateral structural growth and conversion of interior areas, with a complete renovation of the building´s exterior and interior image
- Addition of around 10,000 m² of GLA, essentially for new fashion anchors, medium-sized stores and small stores
- Creation of a new restaurant area on the top floor, which will have a large panoramic terrace
During the works, the shopping center will continue to operate normally and those responsible assure us that they will do everything possible to minimize any inconvenience that tenants or visitors may encounter.
