As part of the May 1st celebrations, Figueira da Foz City Council is once again promoting “Folclore nas Ruas” (Folklore in the Streets), an initiative that invites the population to take to the streets and watch various performances by folklore groups from the municipality, in different locations in the city and Buarcos: Largo S. João do Vale; Largo Dr. Luís Melo Biscaia, Largo Caras Direitas; Largo da Beira Mar; Coreto do Jardim Municipal and Esplanada Silva Guimarães.

The activity will include the participation of six folklore groups from the municipality: Grupo Folclórico e Etnográfico da Praia da Leirosa from Centro Recreativo Popular da Marinha das Ondas; Grupo Mulheres de Tavarede from Mulheres de Tavarede - Associação; Rancho as Cantarinhas de Buarcos from Grupo Caras Direitas; Rancho Folclórico e Etnográfico de Lavos from Sport Club de Lavos; Rancho Folclórico As Morenitas da Gândara from Associação Cultural, Recreativa e Desportiva da Gândara and Rancho Os Pauliteiros da Serra da Boa Viagem from União Instrução e Recreio da Serra de Santa Marinha.
