From July 9 to September 13, the Caffé Room at Casino Figueira will host a shower of stars. The voices of Rui Drumond and Natacha Cantarinhas will be joined for an hour (always at 11pm from Wednesday to Saturday) by eight male and female dancers who will perform iconic songs from the 80s and 90s, including hits by Madonna, A-Ha, Whitney Houston, U2, Nirvana and many others.
During those years, popcorn became a true pop culture icon, especially associated with movie afternoons, where the biggest musical and cinematic hits conquered the screens and the hearts of millions. Just as the popcorn bursts and fills the movie theater, the show promises to flood Casino Figueira´s Caffé Room with an explosion of energy.
For the 4th year, Miguel Ribeiro returns to Casino Figueira to sign another exclusive production. This time he´s presenting “a typical summer show” full of vibrant choreography and dazzling costumes, with a strong visual component that takes the viewer back to those years which, he says, “are back and in fashion”.
Sónia Almeida, the Casino´s Animation Director, announced that this year´s show “is based on a partnership (with Miguel Ribeiro Produções) that has worked very well” and that, in view of last year´s comments, it was decided to increase the time on stage to a total of 40 days, taking advantage of the structure set up in a summer season that sees a lot of demand for this type of show.
According to Casino Figueira´s Marketing Director, Fernando Maia, last year´s show was attended by 6,000 spectators, and there were also around 17,000 at the Francesinhas Festival. This year, according to Casino Figueira´s Marketing Director, the target to be achieved in this “perfect marriage” is 25,000 spectators. This is because, as in previous years, Casino Figueira is once again launching promotions.
From July 10 to August 31, everyone can enjoy this typically northern delicacy in traditional, chicken and vegetarian versions. The price of €12.50 includes the Francesinha, 2 glasses of beer (20 cl each) and coffee. Alternatively, the Francesinha Especial is available, which this year will be the “French Burrito” (wrap, minced 100% beef, mixed peppers, mixed cheeses, ham, crispy onions, Flemish cheese and francesinha sauce).
For this year´s edition, Casino Figueira is offering, for every €20 of consumption, 1 ticket to the “POP CORN” show (valid on Wednesdays and Thursdays and limited to the capacity of the Salão Café) with the purchase of another ticket and 1 voucher for gambling worth €2.5, thus making the most of an evening that is intended to be fun and convivial for family and friends.
Fernando Maia also announced that Casino Figueira is betting on the senior segment, having contacted parish councils and institutions in the country - with a focus on the central zone - that deal with this age group and that will have specific discounts on dates to be established.
Within this range of services, the Marketing Director also pointed out that the Royal Bar & Emotions (in the gaming area) has a new drinks and snacks menu. And the Casino´s own Gaming has a renovated machine park with a “highly modern and technological” system.
It is against this backdrop that Fernando Maia says he is “very optimistic” about a summer that is not just restricted to the Casino: “Figueira da Foz is experiencing strong tourism and Casino Figueira also wants to attract people to the municipality and contribute with a differentiating offer in a very strong investment and a major strategic bet in a year that we want to be very good for Figueira da Foz”.
