Architectural Heritage
Created by João António de Aguiar, with the collaboration of engineers Henrique Óscar Ferreira and José Nunes da Costa Redondo, the Clock Tower is one of the most emblematic and iconic monuments in Figueira da Foz.
This 20-meter-high tower fits perfectly into the aesthetics of the Estado Novo. Its construction began in the first half of the 20th century, a period that followed a wave of development in the city of Figueira da Foz. The project began in 1942 and five years later the work was completed.
Located on the oceanfront, between the two stairways leading to the beach, this building occupies a prominent position in the coastal landscape.
