“Figueira is always open”, says Pedro Santana Lopes, Mayor of Figueira da Foz - and indeed it is!
In addition to “The Most Beautiful Race in Portugal”, which brought together 4,000 people to run or walk between Quiaios Beach and the Clock Tower, the city hosted the final stage of the National Enduro Championship. In Dr. João Ataíde Square, the evening was a parish fair.
The associations representing the municipality´s 14 parishes continued to present attractive menus and there was plenty of entertainment. On the third day of the fair, the Grupo de Cantares Alegria - from Matos, the Rancho das Camélias - from S. João do Vale, the Rancho das Cantarinhas - from Buarcos and DJ Filipe Sanches performed.
This Monday the Fair continued, with plenty of gastronomic options and entertainment from the Rancho Folclórico do Ateneu Alhadense, and DJ Pedro Gomes.
Figueira is celebrating and will continue to do so, namely with the City Festivities, the 73rd anniversary of the Air Force, another edition of RFM SOMNII and Figueira Beach Rugby International, as well as swimming on beaches to suit all tastes, and lots of fun in the heated saltwater pools and water inflatables, about to open.
